3D Systems (DDD) is a global leader of the pioneering 3D printing industry. Some speculate that it is destined to become the IBM of the industry.
Healthcare professionals were among the first to embrace 3D Systems' additive manufacturing capabilities. 3D printing applications in healthcare range from precise dental and anatomical models and surgical guides to implantable devices, improved appliances for medicine delivery, custom hearing aids and prosthetics.
Dentistry
All we humans have the same body structure, but are very different in details. When it comes to replacing body parts, dental restoration or the like, every millimeter counts.
It could be said that replacing or modifying body parts is a custom business and most medical parts and devices are custom-made in some ways.
In conventional thinking "custom-made" is the direct opposite of "mass produced". The two cannot be mixed or interchanged.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Rich Smith]
Just in time for tax day, Levittown, Pa.-based StoneMor Partners (NYSE: STON ) is off the hook with the IRS. The funeral services provider announced Friday that an audit of its 2010 federal income tax returns conducted by the Internal Revenue Service has resulted in a finding that no changes are necessary.

Of course, there are some exceptions. My favorite outlier, about as non-oil and gas as you can get, is StoneMor Partners LP (NYSE: STON). StonMor is an MLP that manages cemeteries... and it pays a 9.5% yield!

The options market has seen other errors this year. CBOE Holdings Inc. (CBOE) delayed the opening of its main exchange for three hours in April, while Goldman Sachs Group Inc. executed erroneous orders on Aug. 20. The entire market was shut briefly on Sept. 16 because of a malfunction with the options industry main pricing feed.

Among exchanges, the action is beyond the stock market. With the rise in trading of futures, options, and other derivative investments, NYSE Euronext's ownership of the NYSE Liffe exchange in London was a key element of ICE's interest. CME Group (NASDAQ: CME ) and CBOE Holdings (NASDAQ: CBOE ) have worked hard to preserve their respective strength in futures and options, and rising market turbulence has made many of their products look a lot more enticing. Given that derivatives can help hedge market risk and reduce overall exposure, all of the exchange companies have an opportunity to bolster their presence in the derivatives market with innovative products that meet the new needs investors have in a more turbulent financial environment.

A few weeks ago, I focused on some of the euro countries' debt levels, as well as the improvement in some of their manufacturing data. Their stock markets have continued to rally sharply as the iShares MSCI France (EWQ) is up over 13% since early July and is doing just slightly better than Germany (EWG).

So how can you play this trend? The iShares MSCI France ETF (EWQ) is one way, via a diversified fund that owns some of the biggest names in France. There also oil giant Total (TOT), which is headquartered in France but has a global flavor, as well as French healthcare giant Sanofi (SNY)
